"The New Medicine" is a PBS show which aired in the spring of 2006 on TPT2. This excellent 3-hour documentary presents scientific research which has been done by some university hospitals in the United States. It indicates the direction in which western medicine seems to be headed, namely, integrating the best of complementary therapies into the best of western medicine, thus creating "integrative medicine" which will more adequately serve the health care needs of people anywhere.

The third segment of this documentary consists of a panel discussion involving Dana Reeves (not long before she died), who was the wife of the late Hollywood star Christopher Reeves. She conducts a riveting discussion with Dr. Brent Bauer, Director of the Department of Integrative Medicine, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, and Dr. Mary Jo Kreitzer, Chair of the Department of Spirituality and Healing, University of Minnesota. Another important participant is a key person from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota.

Participants in the Clemens Hall panel will each speak for 5 minutes on the third segment of "The New Medicine." These speakers are Icephine Johnson, Nurse Practitioner, Peggy LaDue, Director, Central Minnesota Sexual Assault Center, Ana Maria Studer, bilingual medical doctor from Venezuela, who teaches Yoga in many centers in St. Cloud, Dr. Jesus Lopez, family practice physician from Mexico who is preparing to take his medical Board exams in the US, Susan Saetre, chiropractor, Stillpointe, Dr. Giovanni Antunez, M.D., Dr. Ph., Professor of Health in the department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sport Sciences, College of Education, St. Cloud State University, and Dr. David Mumm, Murn & Mumm Family Dentistry. These presenters represent very different sensibilities about western and non-western forms of medicine.
